Heaven Is Nursing A Broken Heart

I am putting all my SuperDog projects on hold.
Between stolen naps
and watching over my father Sumo . . .
I have no energy left . . .
So please understand . . .
I can not do some of your posters and cards
but I am sending some pictures by eMail.

Lookit:
Keeper is exhausted as well!
She comes home right away and in tears
and runs to check on Popsy Sumo right away!
Keeper has cancelled all events
so she can keep an eye on Popsy!

My Popsy is OK
but he moves slow
and he eats little
and when he sleeps
he gets easily startled.

My superjob now is to keep watch over my Popsy.
When he does not finish his meal, I do it for him.
When Keeper is done cleaning his fur
I wait for my furs to be cleaned as well.
When Keeper gives him a hug
I wait for my hugs as well.

There is nothing
that goes on in my Popsy's life
that I am not part of.

And now I take a wee break
to join Ashley's SHS.
It is one of my favorite weekly do:

SMILE
At least somebody can smile for me;

RUSTY AND SOMETHING OLD
My old rusty metal collar.

ARTIFICIAL
This is not a bone. It is not a tiger either.
It was a gift by my GF Happy many moons ago.

REPEATING PATTERNS
My dirty paws waiting for keeper
after following my Popsy around!

STAND ALONE
Now look at my Popsy Sumo.
He now hates being alone.
And while I can
I will keep him company . . .

There is no better time to show your loved one
how special and important that he is in your life
than in that moment when he needs you the most . . .

Do not grieve and be sad for your loved ones.
Because in their weakest moments
your love and happiness
is their only joy!

And that's my drooly barking
for my other favorite
Lisa and her Kitty:

And for all who sent us good wishes
healing prayers, love and concern
you make our tiredness and grief bearable . . .
Thank you all drooly much!

  7. Here's a sweepy barkback for you. So sorry to hear your Popsy Sumo is slowing. I know that sadness of patience. Extra pats and love for Popsy coming from me and Tula Dot, and Princess P here in Maine.
Despite yours and Keeper's drooly sad days you managed quite a wonderful post.
Sending warm drooly thoughts to you and your family.

  9. YOur blog has been the most wonderful way to start a cold Monday morning and another week teaching the misbehaving middle schoolers. Each picture and caption was great. You definitely have the eye for photographing animals. I loved each and every photo. genie

  16. Hoy Sweepy, pakisabi mo lang na ayoko ng makukulit na dalaw. At saka tingnan mo ang sarili mo. Tumataba ka sa kunsumisyon ata!

  19. sweepy, how's popsy sumo doing now?

  20. Popsy Sumo is OK. He eats very little and walks very slow. He still jumps to the compost pit to leave pee-mails but otherwise he wanted to be cleaned, spoonfed, and brush every hour! Keeper is pretty tired!

  21. I often wonder whether I will have the strength and courage to face my dogs, as they enter their twilight years. When the eyes no longer sparkle so, when the spring in their steps is gone, when even their barks are muted. Thanks for the inspirational post, and a reminder what we should do as our dogs' best friends.

  22. It sounds like you and Keeper are doing the best any human or doggie can do. We wish Popsy the best. My mom understands all to well spending every minute with a dog, to love him, to take care of him. We are thinking of you and sending hugs--hopefully it will help infuse some energy into you all.

    love & wags,
    River
