After the Holy Week . . .

Yup.
That's me alright.
The whole neighborhood was so quiet
that I can not stand and sit still.
It looked suspiciously too quiet.
You know the feeling before the storm
that ghost-like silence
then WHAM!

Sweeeeeepeeeeee!

Oh-oh.
Keeper's notoriously LOUD voice
breaking the silence and the quiet of the hour.
There ought to be a law against noisy humans
on a quiet holy week.

And now I start my
ONCE-a-Week barkings
with Lisa's:
Lisa wanted photographs taken from the heart
and my adoring fans wanted
our most recent family portrait
and portraits are always heartwarming.
So here's our recent shot:
My Popsy Sumo, KeeperLui and moi
on a lazy weekend holy morning.

Keeper said holy week
is not just a one week affair.
Popsy thinks that all weeks are holy.
As for me, my Superdog guidebook
does not give proper advise
when the week gets holy, wacky, and hot.
What I know and believe in
when we are together all week
the world is drooly fine.

And now moving on to Ashley's
And here are the challenges:

Reflections

My Superdog eyes reflect an intruder running around Rainbow Avenue. In between, I see the neighbors loading their cars with belongings for a weekend trip and another neighbor watching me with disapproving eyes. Woof, so much for reflection.

Guess what this is?

My drooly ears after my Popsy cleaned it.

What's Inside

Have you ever wondered what's inside the sleeping beast?

There! My Popsy's fangs
filled with cavities and tartar!
Now that's what you get when you peer too close.

Playtime

Lawn & Garden

All this space and no one to play with . . .

And here's our backyard
for Harriet's SHADOW SUNDAY
and Jan's SOOC:
All of the leaves are drying and falling
amidst the hoomans 'undies' washing day.
Woof!

And for Allie's

and her challenge: Siblings
Although I grew up with all of my 20+ siblings, they found their furever homes after. And the only one who stayed with me was my older big black brother Bogart who left suddenly last year.

And apart from happy and boring memories
Bogart left me with quirky stuff like this:
I don't know what it is.
It is too small for any of us
and yet for some reason
you tend to keep nonsensical items
owned by somedoggy you love
which is perfect for Amy's CSS:
Hey, Amy, I am perfecting my doggy march.
Just so you know (wink!)

And here's my MACRO view
especially for Lisa of:
and for all my adoring fans
who wanted a MACRO shot
of my drooly pimples:

And for SelfSagacity of:
THIS
here are my two Qs:

1. Why do dogs have pimples?
2. Why do humans think they are in love when they have zits?

And now I wait for my VET in real time.
Keeper said it completely escaped her
that we have not had any VET visit since last year
and she thought we might need something.

And I thought one goes to a doctor only when one is sick.
Have you seen your doctor lately?

Passion Week

That's what the hoomans call it.
Well, my life is full of passion anyway.
So mine is really a passion year
and a drooly passion doggy life!

Now moving on . . .

Ashley's passion-filled challenges for:

Time
This is my blue clock, Ashley.
It does not work ever.
But it is also perfect for SmilingSally's Blue Monday:
Smiling Sally
I have drooly problems with linking, Sally.
Something to do with my big paw.
Somebody ought to make keyboards animal-friendly.
And I can't use speaker driven keypads
simply because I don't human speak.
Oh, what a blue, blue time!

Now, Ashley wants Poem/Poetry
What else but my poem-like paws, Ashley!
And it goes like:
"Oh, what big paws you have! The better to . . ."
Wait, that ain't child-friendly
and I might get arrested for violence.
And Keeper said it is dusty and dirty white.
So scrap the woofy poetry.
Next!

Outside
I always wondered why everybody wants to go outside?
I don't go outside of Heaven.
The air and streets look dirty and smelly.
The noise and pollution makes you dumb
and gives you bad coughs for ages.
Well, this week somebody gave free anti-rabies shots again
and hundreds of dogs down RainbowAve came traipsing outside
and gave Popsy Sumo endless exercise
running to and fro Heaven barking at everydoggy.
I texted my online vet, DrGeoff.
I know I had my shots last November
and wondered if I can have another one.
"That's over-vaccination, Sweepy! Wait for November"
k doc. drooly tnx.

Next!

ZOOM
What else, Ashley, but my handsome face.
You can't have a week go by
without my drooly face
plastered in your memory.
Load my huge zits and cavities too
and you're guaranteed a nightmare.

Isolation
My Me time.
The purrfect time to watch the goings on
and wonder what the fuss is about.
Warning to Animals: Hoomans can give us stress
Avoid them as often as you can.
Except during meal times.

Now, when I shoot this same scene "with a heart" . . .
. . . it makes you break all heart, livers, and arms.
My drooly doggy wisdom for Lisa this week:
Life is a drooly wave of ups and downs.
When this happens, you take a drooly nap.

Now if I shoot it in monochrome . . .
it gets perfect for Dragonstar's
Black and White Weekend!

But if I shoot it in sepia . . .
it looks purrfect for Mary's Sepia Scenes:

But if I want to combine color and monochrome . . .
that will be purrfect for Amy's
Color Splash Sunday
. . . and just so you know
last week my CSS got this:

And now for Allie's:

Allie's challenge: Sports
My loverly squeak ball.
It gives irritating noise that is not good
especially during Holy Monday.
Passion week is about hush time.
You tiptoe in quirky fashion
and no squeakies for a week.

And for my Blog Action Day:
I barked at TheOtherKeeper to inform other doggies
who have not taken their anti-rabies shots last Nov
to move their butts and FurBarkinOutLoud
have yer free shots NOW na!
And as for Dawgy, our drooly adopted neighbor,
who seemed abandoned all week,
don't worry you will always be part of our family.
I ordered two meals sent to her daily.

And to end . . .
here is another MACRO shot
purrfect for Lisa and her chaos:

Do not forget to smile at the world.
They smile and laugh at you anyway!

In drooly remembrance of my big brother Bogart:
January 15, 2001 - April 14, 2010

Summertime Sweepy!

I'm quite late with my
once a week barkings
so I am going to start
my photo challenges
right away!

IN FASHION:
Whoa!
Lookit! I'm all set for summer, Ashley!
Hot spot, pimples and drooly cavities!

Well, it is summer all year round in my island
but when school goes on a break
that is what they call summer break.
You break a leg, you break your bank account,
you break your whatever
and break into barkings!

WAITING TO CLICK:
Now this is my loot bag.
It is a wannabe something.
It does not have anything in it.
It is waiting for something.
It is waiting for something to click.
Now when you open it . . .

MANY:
. . . it expands to fit my whole self inside!
Perfect for a summer get-away!
That way, Keeper can stash me in as a handcarry
so I won't get stash in the airplane's tail!
That saves airfare.
That saves airseat.
That saves yucky airplane food.
And that's OK because this bag is so huge
I can stash my mini ref inside!
It does not give miles point though.

And in case you did not notice
my drooly bag has some BLUE in it
purrfect for Smiling Sally's:
Smiling Sally

MOTION:
And there goes the Superdog and his Popsy
as we walk the red carpet, er, the dusty ramp!
Fashionably woofy.
Fashionably perfect for ShadowShotSunday!
Not bad for senior dogs eh, Harriet?

ANIMAL PERSPECTIVE:
And that's my Popsy's perspective
when he sees me walking down Heaven.
Although, he sometimes see blurry images and barks at me.
Popsy barked to tell me that it is raining
and the laundrywoman is washing
and we should not get in the way.
And I go . . .
Now that's another 'Motion' shot, Ashley!

Now here's for Lisa's
My summer hat is perfect for cover, Lisa.
I cover my drooly face
when the gurls come running!
Now when the girls ran past me
my inquisitive ears rises up in confusion
and pushes my drooly hat up as well!
. . . and reveal my drooly pimples!
Perfect for Jan's SOOC!

Nya nya nya.
Yesh.
Dogs get pimples too, Jan.
We also get acne, rashes,
and bad hair days.
Life ain't grand.

Now since Amy is so back at
here's my drooly color splashed out self:

And here's for Allie of

who wants APRIL SHOWERS:
I was having my sunbathing session, Allie,
when I felt sharp rainshowers on my nose!
Rains on a sunny afternoon
equals drooly weather.
I am so color-splashed-out!

And for Lisa of

Summertime is not always about fashion
and most especially not about being
fashionably late,
fashionably barky,
and fashionably drooly
on a rainy hot week.
Whatever it means . . .

And now to answer some queries:

No, Triccie, I don't do doggy tricks.
I do trick people and some critters (WOOF!)
but I don't "sit, fetch, shake hands, heel" on command.
I can drool on your face though.
So I'm afraid you can not borrow me
for your summer playschool's Show&Tell.
But here's my multiple ID shots
for you to print as your stickers:
This is also perfect for your riddle
where you try to find the real and right Sweepy!
The real me is somewhere in there, Triccie.

And now for my Contrite Pose:
S O R R Y

. . . To my orangutan friends,
I am sorry for the delay
in my pawty pawtrait edit.
Don't worry 'cause I will try to finish it
before the eclipses in June.

I am sorry too to Peacock Phoenix
for not submitting my art journal.
I made several good deeds though.
(Does barking at the nosy neighbor count?)
I barked at them all the time and any day now
the village chief will have me arrested for being a nuisance!
And this is what you get for your good deeds!

I am Sorry, Julie, for not sending my poetry.

I am so sorree, Selby, for not being on chat.

I am also SORRY for all media appearance requests
since as I said earlier, I don't perform on command.
I don't speak human language either
but if you can expertly translate my drooly barkings
I guess I can spare a drooly live cam with my pimples.
I can text and type on touch screens though.
Although I can not guarantee the safety of your gadgets.

I have other loads of requests
that I am now hiring a Scheduler.
If you need a drooly job, go bark in my place.
I offer bacon dog treats, pawtraits,
shirts with my face on it.
and FBOL (forbarkingoutloud!)
I can include drooly dangling earrings
with my drooly dangling self!

So before I turn into a sorry state
let me wish you all
a summery week
filled with fresh sunshine
happy laughter
healthy meals
and lots of hugs. . .
